US Manufacuring
The entire Kestrel line is designed and built in the USA. No other handheld weather meter is. Some electronic components have to be sourced overseas these days, but Kestrel buys American wherever possible. Kestrel believes US manufacturing is the only way to ensure that every Kestrel will do its job right. Kestrel believes it’s important to do its part to keep manufacturing alive and well in the US.
The Kestrel 2500's digital pressure altimeter provides immediate access to meteorological data, making it an optimal selection for outdoor endeavors.
The Kestrel 2500 weather meter includes a three-hour pressure trend indicator, which can aid in predicting unfavorable weather. Additionally, its station pressure readings can assist shooters and hunters seeking accuracy, as it impacts bullet trajectory.
The Kestrel 2500 with NV has a night-vision preserving backlight that limits blue/green spectrum light to optimize natural night vision. NV backlighting is much dimmer than standard backlighting, making it harder to spot in dark settings. This backlight emits a distinctive soft greyish pink hue, which lies within the visible spectrum, though it is incompatible with night-vision equipment. It takes an average of 30 to 45 minutes for the human eye to adjust to nighttime conditions, allowing optimal night vision. A short burst of white, yellow, green or blue light can "bleach out" the rod cell photo-receptors in the eye, leading to night blindness until adaptation occurs again. Red spectrum light does not trigger this "bleaching out", thus preventing night blindness and visual fatigue.
Featuring sophisticated engineering and rigorous testing for drop-proofing, waterproofing, and buoyancy, the Kestrel 2500 Handheld Weather Meter is crafted in the U.S.A. and backed by a five-year manufacturer's warranty, guaranteeing its quality, stability, and precision.
